May 19, 2006, Newsletter Issue #125: Keyboard Shortcuts

Tip of the Week

Keyboard shortcuts are great timesavers for anyone who spends a lot of time on the computer, particularly those who type documents. Keyboard shortcuts are when you use the "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys along with a letter to perform a function. Ctrl P will quickly bring up the print menu. Ctrl O lets you open files. By using these options your hands stay on the keyboard rather than having to stop typing to reach for the mouse. How do you discover these shortcuts? Look for them listed next to functions you normally click on in drop down menus. Or go to "Help" and "Contents" and type in "Shortcuts".
